I made this pulled pork for my sisters graduation party and it turned out amazing. Everyone absolutely loved it. With this recipe you need to be a little patient. It slowly cooks in all of its juices, including the BBQ sauce, and turns out with a little sweet and a little kick of spiciness . This step brings out all of the great flavors and allows the pork to melt in your mouth and fall apart. You will not regret the wait. Keep reading to find out how to make it. Enjoy!
What you need:
3-4 lb boneless pork loin
1 cup of ketchup
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1 cup habanero BBQ sauce
1/4 cup of sweet honey BBQ sauce
3 cloves of garlic minced
1/2 of a medium onion chopped
1/3 of a cup of water
1 tablespoon of honey mustard
1 teaspoon of salt and pepper
1 teaspoon of seasoning salt, smoked paprika, and oregano
You'll need a crock pot or a big oven safe pan to cook the meat in.
Start by lightly sprinkling the salt and pepper over the pork loin. Cut it into 4 different even pieces. Chop up the onions and place on the bottom of the slow cooker or an oven safe pan.
Place the meat on top of the onions.
Combine all the sauces and the seasoning together, including the salt and pepper, and mix together until well combined.
Pour the sauce over the meat. If you are cooking it in the slow cooker, cover with a lid and cook it for 6-7 hours. (I cooked it over night)
If you are cooking it in the over pour the sauce over the meat and pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cover the pan with foil and place into the oven for 3-4 hours.
When the meat is fully cooked place the meat into a large bowl and using a fork shred the meat. Add about 1/2 a cup of the juices left from the meat that it was cooking in. Give it a good mix and it is ready to eat.
