Southern Style Boil

Nothing brings friends and family together like great food does. I love getting together with family and catching up. Not long ago I was introduced to this southern style boil. I got this recipe at my sister-in-laws house. It was so good. It was something totally different that I have never tried before. I think I made this at least once a week ever since. It’s so easy to make and you can just eat with your hands and boy… it is so tasty! You can honestly get creative and add your own touch to this. You really can’t go wrong with this recipe. If you would like to see how to make this please continue reading. I hope you enjoy!

What you need

3 Bags of Baby potatoes
1 garlic head sliced in half
2 large onions cut in half
3 lemons cut in half
1 large orange
3 bags of shrimp raw
1 tablespoon old bay seasoning
Zatarain’s crab boil in a bag seasoning
2  packages of smokes polish sausage
6 corns cut in half
1 bag of craw fish
2 tablespoon of salt
2 tablespoon of Creole seasoning
2 tablespoon of Zatarian’s crab concentrate liquid
8 eggs (poke a small hole on top with a knife. Be careful not to break them)
½ stick butter melted

Yields 8-10

You’ll need a pretty big pot filled with water, about half way.  Bring to a rolling boil. Peal the onions, cut them in half, and place them into the water. Add in the zatarian’s crab bag seasoning, add in the garlic head, 3 lemons squeezed  and place into the water, 1 orange squeeze and place into the water. Add in the old bay seasoning, salt the water, and add in the crab concentrate.

While the water is coming to a boil make sure everything is prepped and ready to go. Cut the corn in half, make sure the shrimp and craw fish is defrosted.  Cut up the polish sausage and make little holes into the eggs.

After the water has all the seasoning and is at a rolling boil you add in the ingredients that usually take the longest to cook. Add in the potatoes first and let boil for about 10 minutes. Add in the corn and sausage in next and let boil for another 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft. Add in the eggs shortly after adding in the corn and let cook for about 10 minutes.

When the potatoes and corn are cooked, add in the shrimp and craw fish. Make sure that the water is at a boil, so the shrimp and craw fish cooks.  Boil everything for about 5 minutes or until the shrimp turn a light pink color.

Pull everything out the the water into a big tray, and pour the melted butter over everything.

Thank you so much for visiting my page. I hope you enjoy this recipe and share it with family and friends.
