Herb Bacon Flat Bread Pizza
I love pizza any kind works for me. This flat bread pizza is off the charts. It works very well for a lunch time snack or even an appetizer to wow your guests for dinner. The dough has a little crunch on the outside and soft on the inside and it takes very little time to make it. With only a couple of steps it makes a great base. Just show the dough some love and it turns out perfect. The great herb sauce with garlic gives such a great aroma when baking it and the basil hits just the right notes. The bacon gives a nice smokey flavor and the freshness of the green onions pairs very well together. Read on to find out how to make it. Enjoy!
What you need for the bread:
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup lukewarm water (to activate the yeast)
2 tablespoons olive oil
What you need for the spread:
1-2 tablespoons of parsley
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon rosemary seasoning
1 tablespoon of basil paste or fresh basil
pinch of salt and pepper
1/4 cup of olive oil
1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar
2 garlic cloves chopped or pressed
What we need for the toppings:
Mozzarella cheese thinly sliced
2 slices of saute bacon
Pepperoni
1 roma tomato sliced
1/2 bell pepper sliced
2-3 mushrooms sliced
How to make the dough:
Combine the flour and salt in a stand mixer and mix for 10 seconds until combines. In the lukewarm water combine the sugar and yeast and give it a nice stir. Let the mixture stand for about 5 minutes so the yeast can activate.
When the yeast has been activated, add the water to the flour in the stand mixer. Using a dough hook mix the mixture until slowly starting to incorporated. While mixing add in the olive oil and continue mixing until all is well incorporated. When it is all incorporated cover the bowl and let rise for 30-1 hour. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
How to make the spread:
Combine the garlic, all of the seasonings, the oil, and vinegar. Mix well and let sit until ready to use.
When the dough is done rising, place it onto an oiled pan. Sprinkle the top with flour and gently spread the dough out to a shape that you like. Add the oil spread over the top and gently spread it around. Add the cheese on top and all of the toppings.
Place into a pre-heated oven and cook for 20-25 minutes or to the texture preferred. When its done cooking for 20-25 minutes set on high broil and let cook for 3-5 minutes. Util the cheese broils a little. Top off with your favorite herbs or some green onions. Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope that you enjoy.
